Realme introduce new superdart 240W charging in new flagship smartphone Realme GT Neo 5: Price, specifications and launch date in india

Realme has confirmed that its next-gen Realme GT Neo 5 will support 240W fast charging. Currently, smartphones such as the iQOO 10 Pro support 200W and the device is assured to attain full charge in 10 minutes. Realme has not clear about the charging time, though the 240W charging tech may fully charge Realme GT Neo 5 in around 7 to 8 minutes. The smartphone will debut in international variant in February and expand to other markets, likely India later.

Realme shared the development on the Chinese social media platform, Weibo, and was first reported by Gizchina. As per the report, Realme would use a 240W dual GaN mini charging head to achieve the industry's highest power density of 2.34W / CC. For those unaware, a GaN charger uses gallium nitride instead of the more common silicon in its construction. This helps manufacturers make the charger more energy-efficient, smaller, and effective. Interestingly, the 240W fast charger by Realme will measure 2.34W, which is the same as its 160W SuperDart adapter.
One of the main concerns about high charging speeds is heating issues. The report citing Realme claims that the 240W fast charging will be monitored by 13 real-time sensors, and the smartphone will include fireproof materials and a series of certifications to assure the safety of users. The Realme GT Neo 5 will also feature the "industry's largest cooling area" for the most efficient insulation and heat dissipation. Realme claims its smartphone will retain at least 80 per cent of its original charge after 1,600 charging cycles. This is the same number of cycles Realme promised on its 150W-supporting Realme GT Neo 3.

Realme is skipping the GT Neo 4, as the number four in some South East Asian cultures is considered unlucky. It will be interesting to see how the Realme GT Neo 5 will be priced in China and global markets. The GT Neo 3 costs Rs 42,999 in India.

Last year, Realme and its sister brand OnePlus launched smartphones (GT Neo 3 and OnePlus 10R, respectively) with 150W fast charging support. Interestingly, their package includes a 160W adapter. Beyond the charging tech, both phones offered eye-catching specifications such as Dimensity 8100 5G processor, OIS-enabled primary camera, and 5G. The Realme GT Neo 5 will also hope to attract many customers with such eye-catching specifications.

The phone is said to include a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset and a primary camera with a Sony IMX890 sensor with OIS. Ahead of the official launch, its alleged renders have been leaked by OnLeaks with Smart prix. The phone is showcased in a white avatar with triple cameras on the back.
